An automated conversion using scripts/contrib/convert-spdx-licenses.py to
convert to use the standard SPDX license identifiers. Two recipes in meta-selftest
were not converted as they're that way specifically for testing. A change in
linux-firmware was also skipped and may need a more manual tweak.

Long ago in commit 473ff65c2f69de4ece3204fadfae7c5cb992149a
(serial-getty service: Add xterm as default TERM), the xterm
became the default for the serial port terminal.
Using the version of vim.tiny in oe-core master with the
serial port connected in xterm version 322 (which is one
of the most widely deployed versions at the current time)
causes artifacts and missed characters.
The example sequence is the following:
* Start vim
* Press "i" to enter input mode
* Type "123"
* Press Escape to enter command mode
* Press "a" to enter append mode
* Type "456"
At this point if you are using xterm less than version 535 you will
see on your screen "12456" instead of "123456".
Changing the TERM variable to "linux" will still allow you to have all
the same functionality with colorization, ansi character escapes
etc..., but will avoid the extra xterm specific escape sequence that
only exists in the most recent versions of xterm.
This patch allows the end user to set the serial terminal type to
something other than the new default of "linux" by changing the
SERIAL_TERM variable in local.conf. For example:
SERIAL_TERM = "xterm"

A recent commit added single quotes around the sed regex's. This prevented the
expansion of $default_baudrate in do_install(), and ended up with systemd's'
serial-getty@.service file having a literal $default_baudrate.
This broke the serial console getty service.
serial-getty@.service was getting a line which looked like this:
ExecStart=-/sbin/agetty -8 -L %I $default_baudrate $TERM
Rather than:
ExecStart=-/sbin/agetty -8 -L %I 115200 $TERM
Fixed by repacing the single quotes with double quotes in the sed expressions.

Besides checking DISTRO_FEATURES for required or conflicting features,
being able to check MACHINE_FEATURES and/or COMBINED_FEATURES may also
be useful at times.
Temporarily support the old class name with a warning about future
deprecation.

SERIAL_CONSOLE was already deprecated in 2013, yet still some
machine configuration files were using it. This patch replaces
it with SERIAL_CONSOLES, which is the successor.
The default value in systemd-serialgetty.bb can also be safely
transitioned from SERIAL_CONSOLE to SERIAL_CONSOLES, as this
recipe already uses SERIAL_CONSOLES within do_install().
The documentation seems to be already up do date.
beaglebone-yocto.conf in the bsp-guide already uses
SERIAL_CONSOLES. The ref-manual redirects from SERIAL_CONSOLE
to SERIAL_CONSOLES.

If SERIAL_CONSOLES is set to empty for some reason, we would have rootfs
failure like below.
- nothing provides systemd-serialgetty needed by systemd-1:234-r0.core2_64
This is because systemd-serialgetty package is not generated when
SERIAL_CONSOLES is empty.
Set ALLOW_EMPTY to "1" for this recipe to allow for generation of empty
systemd-serialgetty package to avoid the above error.

By setting systemd-serialgetty to rdepend on systemd, we are making
configuration files have runtime dependency on the main utility that
uses those configuration files. Applied with the same logic, we should
make any package that provides service files under /etc/init.d/ to have
runtime dependency on sysvinit. And this is not right.
So we should remove systemd from RDEPENDS of systemd-serialgetty.
Besides, as we have changed systemd to have systemd-serialgetty in its
RDEPENDS by default, we should avoid circular dependency issue.

BitBake has the exact same code as oe.utils.contains so there's no
reason to duplicate it. We now rely on the bb.utils.contains code for
metadata.

A lot of our recipes had short one-line DESCRIPTION values and no
SUMMARY value set. In this case it's much better to just set SUMMARY
since DESCRIPTION is defaulted from SUMMARY anyway and then the SUMMARY
is at least useful. I also took the opportunity to fix up a lot of the
new SUMMARY values, making them concisely explain the function of the
recipe / package where possible.

SERIAL_CONSOLES is now set from SERIAL_CONSOLE if not already set.
This is a little bit gnarly because we have to create a separate service
file for each different baud rate; assume that the first baud rate is
the default, thus preserving the previous behaviour in the event there
is only one baud rate in use.
This change also installs the service file before modifying it in place,
allowing do_install to re-execute properly; additionally the service
file now has the correct permissions (i.e. no execute bit set).

As this package RDEPENDS on systemd it wants to build systemd, but if systemd
isn't a DISTRO_FEATURE then that package is skipped so world builds fail. Solve
this by skipping this package too.
