Fixes [YOCTO #7133]

This goes toward fixing the bug but not completing it.  I have
added the following variables to the variable glossary:

 CPP
 AS
 LD
 TARGET_PREFIX
 AR
 STRIP
 OBJCOPY
 OBJDUMP
 RANLIB
 NM
