with thumb and debug enabled libjpeg-turbo gets stuck forever when building for qemuarm. libjpeg-turbo gets stuck in: libjpeg-turbo/1_1.5.3-r0/build$ arm-webos-linux-gnueabi-gcc -march=armv5te -mthumb -fstack-protector-strong -Wformat -Wformat-security -Werror=format-security --sysroot=libjpeg-turbo/1_1.5.3-r0/recipe-sysroot -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I../libjpeg-turbo-1.5.3 -Wall -O -fno-omit-frame-pointer -g -feliminate-unused-debug-types -pipe -c ../libjpeg-turbo-1.5.3/turbojpeg.c -fPIC -DPIC -o .libs/libturbojpeg_la-turbojpeg.o when -mthumb, -fstack-protector-strong, -fno-omit-frame-pointer appear together, removing one of them is enough for successful build. similar to: http://lists.openembedded.org/pipermail/openembedded-core/2018-May/150654.html but in this case the build gets stuck instead of failure (From OE-Core rev: 70af5f22f7a52fb4cbe64486948bcb2425a56d9e) Signed-off-by: Martin Jansa <Martin.Jansa@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Ross Burton <ross.burton@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
QEMU Emulation Targets ====================== To simplify development, the build system supports building images to work with the QEMU emulator in system emulation mode. Several architectures are currently supported in 32 and 64 bit variants: * ARM (qemuarm + qemuarm64) * x86 (qemux86 + qemux86-64) * PowerPC (qemuppc only) * MIPS (qemumips + qemumips64) Use of the QEMU images is covered in the Yocto Project Reference Manual. The appropriate MACHINE variable value corresponding to the target is given in brackets.
